Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF)

Introduction

Introduction to PRF

Did you know that plasma from your own blood may be able to treat your problems? PRF therapy in Scottsdale is gaining popularity to treat a range of conditions, including joint pain and hair loss.

She is looking dramatically up and to the right, highlighting the lean line of her neck and jaw. The background is split into two distinct, sharply defined vertical sections of black and light gray, creating a dramatic shadow effect on her figure.

What is PRF?

We all have plasma in our blood. It’s mostly made of water and protein, but it also contains something very important: platelets. These platelets contain healing growth factors that can treat a wide variety of medical and cosmetic conditions. When platelet-rich fibrin is administered to the problem areas (via injections or with microneedling), the results are often effective.

Our PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin) therapies harness the natural healing and regenerative properties of your own blood to restore skin health, improve texture, and stimulate collagen production. With the advanced PRF EZ Gel technique, we can create a smooth, injectable gel form of PRF, offering longer-lasting results for facial rejuvenation, under-eye hollows, fine lines, and more—completely natural and additive-free.

What Can Platelet-Rich Fibrin Treat?

  • Sports injuries
  • Post-surgery wounds
  • Tendinitis
  • Hair loss, especially androgenetic alopecia
  • Skin issues such as large pores, fine lines, and acne
  • Fine lines or sagging skin on the face
  • Dark circles under the eyes
  • Aged skin tone and complexion

Who Are the Best Candidates For PRF?

If you’re interested in trying PRF treatments in Phoenix, you may be a great candidate. However, you most likely will not be able to undergo PRF therapy if you have:

  • Anemia
  • Abnormal platelet function
  • Cancer
  • Infection
  • A low platelet count

What Are the Benefits of PRF?

The benefits of PRF therapy include:

  • Restores skin texture and tightness
  • Provides results that improve over time
  • Can be combined with other treatments
  • Doesn’t involve any outside formulas or chemicals

The benefits of combining with fillers:

A combination of these two treatments has been shown to increase longevity and the level of results. Filler restores your skin’s fullness in areas that have lost volume over time. The addition of PRF helps sustain those results by jumpstarting your body’s own natural regenerative processes. PRF injections in Phoenix also treat skin issues that filler alone cannot, such as fine lines, acne, and uneven texture. These two treatments work incredibly well on their own, but when combined, they deliver even better, longer-lasting results.

What’s the First Step?

Thinking about getting PRF? The first step in your journey is to schedule a consultation with our team in Scottsdale, AZ, where we will examine your skin, address your specific concerns, and assess your overall health to determine if PRF is safe and effective for you. This is your time to ask questions and be completely open and honest about what you’d like to get out of the treatment so that we can develop a treatment plan specifically suited to your needs. Once that is set up, we can go ahead and schedule your treatment.

What to Expect on the Day of PRF Treatment

Each PRF procedure will be tailored to each patient’s specific needs, depending on the area being treated. However, most appointments begin with the area being cleansed, and then a topical numbing agent is applied to help minimize any discomfort.

Next, a vial of blood will be drawn from your arm (1 to 2 ounces). The blood will be placed in a spinning centrifuge, which will separate the blood into layers, separating it from the plasma. The plasma is then extracted into a syringe and is then injected into the area to be treated—whether it’s the face, lips, scalp, or another area.

When platelet-rich fibrin is used in conjunction with microneedling for facial rejuvenation, it is applied drop by drop to the face, rather than being directly injected.

PRF Recovery

The best aspect of a PRF treatment in Phoenix is that there is minimal downtime. There will be different side effects for each patient and each treatment, but generally, our Phoenix patients can return to their regular activities after their PRF therapy session. Some patients may experience soreness, bruising, itching, or scabs in the area where PRF injections were administered.
