What is an InstaLift?

InstaLift is a minimally invasive procedure designed to lift and reposition sagging facial tissue, particularly in the mid-face area. Specialized threads are gently inserted beneath the skin to reposition and elevate tissue, providing a refreshed, youthful appearance. The procedure also stimulates collagen production over time, naturally enhancing skin firmness and texture.

The Silhouette InstaLift – An Innovative Solution For Firming Lax Skin

InstaLift is a non-surgical suture-suspension lifting technique. As an alternative to a PDO Thread Lift, it repositions tissue below the skin’s surface with dissolvable threads, combating skin laxity in the midface and jawline. Similar to a PDO Thread Lift, an InstaLift stimulates the body to enhance collagen production, creating firmer, more youthful-looking skin from within. The InstaLift relies on dissolving poly lactic-co-glycolic acid (PLGA) in its cones and sutures, which ensures minimal downtime and side effects. Post-treatment symptoms, such as swelling, bruising, and tenderness, typically resolve within 24 to 48 hours after an InstaLift.

    • Best For: Moderate skin laxity, particularly in the midface and jowls. Actually repositions sagging tissue to a more youthful position.
    • Material: Poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) and polyglycolic acid (PGA)
    • Technique: Uses tiny bidirectional cones to lift skin
      Dissolution: Dissolves over 6–18 months
    • Collagen Production: InstaLift’s PLGA component triggers a stronger collagen response over time, improving skin quality. Activates types one and three collagen.
    • Side Effects: May cause redness and swelling
Longevity of Results: Results last 1.5–2 years, with gradual collagen stimulation over time
    • Best For: Mild laxity and superficial skin tightening, such as fine lines. Primarily, it tightens the skin rather than significantly repositioning it.
    • Material: Polydioxanone (PDO)
    • Technique: Uses barbs to lift skin
    • Dissolution: Dissolves over 4–9 months
    • Collagen Production: Also stimulates collagen, but not as aggressively as InstaLift. Primarily promotes type I collagen.
    • Side Effects: May cause bruising and inflammatory tissue reactions
    • Longevity of Results: Results last 6–12 months, as the PDO dissolves faster than PLGA

Who Are the Best Candidates For an InstaLift?

This treatment is best for individuals between 40 and 70 years old who have mild to moderate facial sagging and want a youthful look without undergoing surgery, injectables, or laser treatments.

What Are the Benefits of an InstaLift?

  • Features tiny, bidirectional cones that anchor into the skin, providing a stronger lift.
  • The cones provide a stronger grip, physically lifting the skin and repositioning tissue more effectively than traditional PDO threads.
  • Results last 1.5–2 years, with gradual collagen stimulation over time.
  • The PLGA component triggers a stronger collagen response over time, improving skin quality.
  • Best for moderate skin laxity, particularly in the midface and jowls.

What to Expect on the Day of InstaLift Treatment

The InstaLift treatment is performed at our Scottsdale office, where our team will begin by numbing the treatment areas with a local anesthetic. Then, we will insert sutures into the deep layers of your skin to lift specific areas of concern, such as the mid-face or around the cheeks. The entire process is straightforward and typically takes around two hours to complete. Afterward, you’ll be sent home with instructions on how to care for the sutures and begin the minimal recovery process.
