What to Expect on the Day of Facial & Neck Liposuction

During facial liposuction, Dr. Craft begins by loosening up the targeted fat cells. This can be done using several methods, including the injection of a tumescent solution, the delivery of ultrasound waves, or the insertion of a narrow cannula. Once the excess fat is sufficiently loose, a surgical vacuum device is attached to a narrow cannula to suction it out of the face.

Before undergoing facial liposuction, the first step is a consultation with Dr. Craft. He will discuss the procedure with you, listen to your unique aesthetic goals, and answer any questions you may have. Dr. Craft will help you determine if facial liposuction is the right procedure for your needs, and if it is, he’ll work with you to create a personalized treatment plan for the surgery.

Your facial liposuction procedure will be performed on an outpatient basis using local anesthesia with IV sedation. Once the anesthesia has taken effect, Dr. Craft will begin by making one or more small incisions in the treatment area. He will then insert a narrow cannula, which he will use to loosen the excess fat cells. Finally, the doctor will suction the loosened fat through the cannula. Once the fat has been removed, he will close the incisions with sutures and apply bandages. Overall, the procedure should take approximately 45 minutes to an hour to complete.

Facial & Neck Liposuction Recovery

After your facial liposuction procedure, you will likely experience some swelling, bruising, and discomfort in the treatment area. You will be required to wear a compression garment for about two weeks to help. These symptoms will gradually disappear on their own, and you can alleviate them by sleeping with your head elevated during recovery. Most patients require approximately one week of rest before they can return to their normal work activities. Additionally, it’s important to avoid strenuous exercise for at least two to three weeks.
